Family Fun in NE Columbus

As the warm summer breeze fills the air and the smell of barbeque permeates our senses, we are reminded that July 4th is just around the corner! Families in NE Columbus are gearing up for a weekend filled with fun parades, community events, and, of course, fireworks! Whether you're looking for a low-key celebration or a big blowout, there are plenty of events in NE Columbus to make this July 4th memorable! Below we'll explore some of the family fun in Columbus. Make sure to check back, as this list is growing!

All of these events are also in our daily local events calendar that is full of fun activities and things to do with kids.

2023 4th of July Parades:

July 4th: 

Clintonville's Family Fun Fest!: Join us for a great event! We open at 8 a.m. with Breakfast at the Clintonville Woman's Club! Breakfast is available until 11 a.m. and is $7 per child and $12 per adult. Breakfast will included face painting for kids!! The Patriotic Pet Parade is at 9:30 a.m. Bring your costumed pets and win prizes! The bike parade starts at 10 a.m. with line-up starting at 9:30 a.m. Decorate a bike for prizes! The youth fishing derby goes from 11 to 2 and features a fully stocked pond and prizes! 

Doo Dah Parade: Doo Dah Parade is celebrating 40 Years so prepare to be blown away! The Good Witch of the [Short] North would look kindly on you by either watching or being in the parade.

Bexley's 4th of July Parade: Starting at 9:30am at Maryland/Remington Rd. and ends at Fair and Cassingham

Sunbury's 4th of July Parade: Starts at 10am in downtown. Festivities will follow.

Reynoldsburg's 4th of July Parade: starts at 10am from Rosehill to Main to Haft to Huber Park.

Lewis Center 4th of July Parade: Starts at 10am from Orange High School, goes to Walker Wood Blvd to Walker Wood Park.

New Albany's 4th of July Parade: Starts at 11am at the New Albany Primary School parking lot and ends at Church of the Resurrection parking lot.

Northland Community Fourth of July Parade: This Fourth of July Parade takes place at 11 am. The 2023 theme is Stronger Together.

Gahanna's 4th of July Parade: Starts at 10:30am. The parade will follow Granville St. between Clark Hall and the Dairy Queen.

Pickerington Parade: Begins at 10am

Upper Arlington's 4th of July Parade: Begins around 9:00am

Westerville's 4th of July Parade: Starts at 10:30am at St. Paul's and heads south to Electric Ave.

Worthington Hills 4th of July Parade: Parade theme this year is Disney



2023 4th of July Community Events and Fireworks:

July 1st:

Patriotic Pops and Soul:The Columbus Symphony continues its 4th of July weekend celebration with Patriotic Pops and Soul featuring Tamika Lawrence and Columbus' own Worship and Praise Chorale!!


July 2nd:

Johnstown's 4th of July Fun and Fireworks: The City of Johnstown Fireworks will be set off at dusk behind the Johnstown Middle School. Spectators can watch from the Johnstown Johnnies Stadium as well as from the high school parking lot. 


July 3rd:

Reynoldsburg's Independence Day Family Fun and Fireworks: Enjoy inflatables, carnival games, food vendors, and live music. Fireworks at 9:45pm

Gahanna Independence Day Celebration – Presented by KEMBA Financial Credit Union:Join the City of Gahanna in celebrating our nation’s Independence Day! Fireworks will be launched from the Gahanna Municipal Golf Course at 10 p.m. Food vendors will be onsite and live music will begin at 5:30 p.m. with Popgun headlining the evening

4th of July in Bexley: Independence Day celebrations in Bexley begin with the annual John Barr 5k, followed by the legendary parade, community celebration on Main Street, and a mesmerizing display of fireworks

Red, White & Boom (Downtown): The Boom Street festival kicks off at 11am (till 8pm) the children's park is open with interactive activities for kids of all ages, including variety of inflatables Fireworks are at 10pm. 

Whitehall 4th of July: Free shuttle and street parking are available for this event

EVENTS Pickerington 4th of July Celebration: Enjoy the view of fireworks from your homes and join us for the parade through Olde Pickerington Village.


July 4th:

July 4th: Central Ohio Symphony: The Central Ohio Symphony will again take the stage in Delaware on Monday, July 4, at 7:30 p.m. 

Sunbury's 4th of July Celebration and Fireworks: After the parade there will be a kids zone with fun activities and hot dog eating contest on the square, then at the high school there will be the outhouse race and fireworks at dusk

Upper Arlington: 4th of July: Since the 1920’s U.A. has made the Fourth of July a special community event.

Westerville's 4th of July Family Fun and Fireworks: At Westerville South, there will be food trucks, inflatable bounce houses, live music, and more. Fireworks at 10pm

Worthington's 4th of July Celebration and Fireworks: There will be a family picnic at Thomas Worthington with bounce houses, costumed characters, live music. There will be a pool tailgate at the pool. The pool is open in until 3:30. 4:30-11:30pm is members only. Fireworks are at 10pm

Gahanna's 4th of July Family Celebration and Fireworks: Enjoy inflatables, a game truck, hamster balls (wrist bands required), live music, and food trucks at Creekside. Fireworks at 10pm

Bexley's 4th of July Community Celebration and Fireworks: Food, kids games and crafts, inflatable bounce house, and live music on Capital's front lawn. Fireworks at 10pm

New Albany's 4th of July Family Festival and Fireworks: There will be bounce houses, face painting, balloon clowns, games, food trucks, live music and more. Fireworks at 10pm
