Fastest growing fundraiser returns for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

COLUMBUS, Ohio (Aug, 27, 2024)— The CancerFree KIDS 100 Mile Challenge presented by Chard Snyder, a 30-day fitness and fundraising campaign to honor Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, returns for its fourth year, beginning September 1.

The concept is simple: do 100 miles of activity, from walking and running to gardening and yoga - and raise $100 to help kids with cancer. Participants can complete their miles doing any activity they prefer and along the way, will learn more about kids who have had or are currently battling cancer and why research is imperative to providing gentler, more efficient treatment options.

The 100 Mile Challenge has raised more than $450,000 to date, including $250,000 last year alone. Almost two thousand participants representing 37 states have logged more than 176,000 miles in support of CancerFree KIDS' funding of innovative research projects. Six grants have been awarded in honor of the 100 Mile Challenge to fund research on some of the most challenging pediatric cancers: rhabdomyosarcoma, high grade gliomas, acute myeloid leukemia and juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia. To date, the 2022 research grants have already attracted an additional $700,000 in funding.

The $25 registration fee includes the 100 Mile Challenge t-shirt, finisher certificate and upon completion of the Challenge, participants receive their choice of a finisher’s medal or dri-fit long sleeve shirt. 100% of fundraising dollars will go to research.

Participate as an individual, create a Community Team or create a team with co-workers to take part in the Corporate Competition. The winning Community and Corporate Competition teams will have a 2024 CancerFree KIDS research grant named in their honor.
