The New Albany Community Foundation’s annual Fall Family Fest is BACK at the Hinson Amphitheatre September 29th ! This year’s special performer is the leading contemporary artist of children’s music, Justin Roberts! He’s been described as “the best songwriter in the genre” by USA TODAY and he certainly lives up to the praise with five Grammy nominations for his upbeat tunes for kids. Justin will be performing with his full band, the Not Ready for Naptime Players, when he takes the stage in New Albany for a rousing afternoon of musical fun.
His musical inspiration began during his years as a preschool teacher when he created songs for his students. They enjoyed them so much that he recorded them to share with others, which then led to performing and traveling around the world. His songs focus on the joys and challenges of growing up and inspire parents to remember their own childhoods and the feeling of being a kid again. He became recognized for his new spin on children’s music in various publications such as TIME Magazine which praised his new unique twist stating, “these are not your parents’ nursery rhymes.” His versatile music soon became popular and relatable to both child and parent which gained him national recognition.
His musical success gained him attention from “The Today Show,” “Nickelodeon,” and the “Grammys.” He has performed in front of millions of people and continues to share his art with the children and families around the world including… this fall in New Albany, Ohio at the Charleen & Charles Hinson Amphitheatre!
