4 SUPER Game Day Appetizers

Family Favorite Buffalo Chicken Dip

Ingredients:

  • 8oz reduced fat cream cheese
  • 4 oz of crumbled bleu cheese + extra to garnish/ sprinkle on top
  • 2-3 cups of shredded cooked chicken
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup of your favorite hot sauce or more to taste  
  • one cup of sour cream or plain greek yogurt
  • 1 bunch of green onions thinly sliced
  • 1 Tablespoon of Ranch Seasoning

Directions:

  • Place all the ingredients into the slow cooker and cook on high for 2 hours or on low for 4 hours. 
  • Stir and serve with bread, tortilla chips, celery sticks, carrot sticks etc
  • Top with extra crumbled bleu cheese and sliced green onion

** You can also bake this in the oven at 350for 20 minutes.**


Pillsbury Vegetable Pizza

Ingredients:

  • 2 packages of crescent rolls
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or plain Greek yogurt
  • 8oz softened cream cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill weed
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup each of assorted vegetables (broccoli, tomatoes, cauliflower, black olives, green onion, carrots, sweet peppers, cucumber)
  • Shredded cheddar cheese

Directions:

  • Unroll the crescent rolls and press them into a baking sheet
  • Bake according to package directions and let the crescent roll cool
  • Combine sour cream/yogurt, cream cheese, dill and garlic powder and spread it on the cooled crescent roll
  • Top with your choice of vegetables
  • Cover with wax paper and chill in the refrigerator overnight. Top with cheese

Mom's Game Day Pepperoni Balls

Ingredients:

  • 24 frozen dinner rolls
  • 24 pieces of cubed mozzarella (cheese sticks work well for this too)
  • 4oz of sliced pepperoni
  • 2 Tablespoons of butter, melted
  • 2 Tablespoons grated parmesan cheese

Directions:

  • Place the frozen dinner rolls into greased muffin tins
  • Cover with plastic wrap sprayed with vegetable oil/ spray and let them rise over about 4 hours
  • Remove the rolls and press a cube of cheese and 2 slices of pepperoni into each roll
  • Pinch all the rolls closed and place seam side down into the muffin tin
  • Recover with plastic wrap and let them rise for 30-45 more minutes
  • Bake at 350o for 15 minutes or until golden brown
  • Remove from oven and brush with melted butter
  • Sprinkle with parmesan cheese

**Feel free to experiment with your favorite pizza toppings. We like to add mushrooms or sausage to these rolls!**


Joy's Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts

Ingredients: 

  • 1 pound bacon
  • 1 can of whole water chestnuts
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chili sauce
  • toothpicks

Directions:

  • Cut bacon and water chestnuts in half
  • Wrap the water chestnut with a slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick
  • Place in a 9*13 baking dish
  • Mix mayo, brown sugar and chili sauce together and pour over all the water chestnuts
  • Bake at 350 for 45-55 minutes (I leave mine in closer to an hour to make sure the bacon is crispy!)
