Is there anything better than treating the kids to an ice cream cone on a hot summer day in Columbus? We can't think of one. Plus, if I'm being honest my family will literally take any excuse to grab some ice cream (summer, fall, winter, or spring!).
Luckily, We have a ton of great ice cream shops in Columbus where we can indulge in yummy goodness. Here are 5 of our favorite places for ice cream in Columbus:

Graeter's Ice Cream
There are a TON of locations in Columbus. Below are the locations in NE Columbus:
- Bexley: 2282 E. Main St
- Easton: Located inside the Station Building
- Gahanna: 425 Beecher Rd.
- Polaris: 8749 Sancus Blvd.
- Westerville: 1 N. State St.
- Additional locations on Bethel Rd., in Dublin, Hilliard, Pickerington, Powell, Upper Arlington, and Worthington, as well as the Graeter's Food Truck
What we love: Graeter's is our go-to ice cream spot. From the old-fashioned parlor feel, to the variety of flavors, to the one-of-a kind french pot ice cream, to the biggest chocolate chunks around, there's just too much to love. My kids love the smiley face sundaes, and my husband and I love the seasonal flavors like Pumpkin and Banana Chocolate Chip.

Whit's Frozen Custard

What we love: Frozen custard. Need I say more? The creamiest creamy, Whit's is made fresh daily, and it shows. They put out a flavor of the week so there's always something new to try AND I've just learned that New Albany and Westerville locations put out new flavors DAILY! So there's really no reason to not stop by for a cup a day :)

Johnson's Real Ice Cream
This truly local Ice Cream Shop has three locations:
- Bexley: 2728 East Main St.
- New Albany: 160 W. Main St.
- Dublin: 55 W. Bridge St.
What we love: My family loves this local Columbus shop. If we ever want a pure and simple, yet delicious scoop of ice cream, this is our spot. We love the story behind the scoops, and the ice cream flavors are fantastic.

Swenson's Drive-In
There are 5 locations in Columbus, 2 in NE Columbus:
- New Albany/Gahanna: 5720 N. Hamilton Rd.
- Polaris: 2012 Ikea Way
- Additional Locations: Reynoldsburg, Dublin, Hilliard
What we love: Swenson's is our go-to for milkshakes. My kids love to mix flavors, and I love a classic chocolate. Swenson's also has various flavored sodas, and of course, delicious food! Plus, there's nothing more fun for a bunch of kiddos than having a picnic in the car at the drive-in!

The Yard Milkshake Bar
1055, N. High St., Columbus
What we love: The Yard is the perfect spot for a special treat. The milkshakes and sundaes are out of this world, and include candies, colors, and cookies galore! They also sell edible cookie dough.
