When it comes to choosing reliable child care that’s right for your family, you’re not just looking for a good babysitter. With more than 175 locations nationwide and growing, Kiddie Academy is a favorite preschool among parents and it’s not hard to see why. With its cutting edge classrooms and technology, Kiddie Academy of Westerville is at the forefront of early preschool education in all regards. Just ask the school’s director, Julia Cain.

“Everything we teach is with early childhood learning in mind and that’s where the foundation begins for educational child care,” Cain said. Kiddie Academy’s proprietary Life Essentials® curriculum, supporting programs, methods, activities and techniques help prepare children for school and for life. The four pillars of Life Essentials focus on developmentally appropriate curriculum that aligns with state standards, health & fitness, character education and technology education.

“Our curricula are mentally appropriate for our students based on the observations of our teachers. Because each child is different and develops at his or her own pace, our teachers evaluate that and teach to each individual. It’s never a cookie-cutter approach.”

So for example, if the class is discussing the weather, there are stations for both work and play prepared for children to independently explore the topic. This might also include an art station where a child has the opportunity to creatively explore the topic through arts and crafts. Maybe they draw a picture of the weather, or develop a 3-D model using crafting supplies illustrating what they think the weather looks like outside.

“Students typically gravitate to the stations and topics that interest them, and we look for opportunities to reinforce their learning through their natural interests,” Cain said.

Children are also provided USDA-approved healthy snacks and meals included with tuition. All meals are sit-down, and served family style to encourage character building, socialization and manners. It also enables conversation and allows budding friendships to grow.

While quality educational stimulation and care of the children are paramount, Kiddie Academy of Westerville also recognizes the challenges working parents face in finding and utilizing their services to the fullest. Serving families and their children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old, the academy offers full time care and summer camp programs. The facility opens early and stays open late to offer complete flexibility for working parents with demanding schedules, late meetings and hectic commutes.

Kiddie Academy also offers summer camps designed to inspire children to explore, create, interact and stay active during the summer months. Summer camp at Kiddie Academy works to enhance and further develop what students have already been working to learn throughout the school year, sprinkled with fun and educational field trips throughout the summer.

Children attending Kiddie Academy of Kiddie Academy have access to other special programming like the Music & More program, offering time with fun musical resources both at home and school for interested children and families.

Because Kiddie Academy of Westerville is part of a national network of more than 175 schools, the facility uses a globally recognized AdvancED accreditation system, signifying its commitment to quality education and the highest standards in child care. There are 7 classrooms in all, with a maximum student capacity of 134 children, so class sizes will be small and focused, helping to ensure that their time with Kiddie Academy is productive time.

Once enrolled, children will enjoy all that the 8,650-square-foot facility has to offer including secure entryways and fencing to playgrounds. Parents will appreciate the security of the site, with its password-protected entry system to its streaming video camera system that lets parents (with secure login and password) check in with their children via webcam at any time from any internet-connected device.
