On Saturday, June 18, Ohio Village becomes Storybook Village for a special, one-day only event that promotes early childhood literacy. Visit a transformed Ohio Village and see beloved characters from popular kids’ books and television programs.
Curious George, Princess Pesto, The Cat in the Hat, Olivia the Pig, Pete the Cat and many others will all be on hand at this event. Kids can help Cinderella prepare for the ball; talk to Rapunzel about her long, flowing hair; or help Little Red Riding Hood make her way to grandma’s house. And for the first time ever at Storybook Village, Elephant and Piggie will be a part of the day’s festivities.

This year marks the 150th birthday of Beatrix Potter, the famous author and illustrator of dozens of children’s stories. She was best known for featuring charming woodland animals in her books, including her most popular, The Tale of Peter Rabbit. In celebration of her birthday, visitors can meet Beatrix Potter, learn about characters from her most popular stories and participate in special activities featuring these delightful characters.
Join the Ohio History Connection from 10 a.m.–5 p.m. on June 18 for photo opportunities with favorite story book characters. In addition, at various times throughout the day visitors can enjoy:

- Games on the village green
- Beanstalk planting
