My kids LOVE to sled, as I am sure yours do as well. It looks like we are in for a lot of snow here in Columbus, so we've created this sledding hills resource article so that you can find the perfect place to go. I also added outdoor ice skating locations. And, we added cross-country skiing places, which is something I have been thinking about doing with my kids as I used to do it a lot as a kid. If you know of a hill that is a hidden gem, please let me know. We'll keep adding more sites as we find than, and as you share with us.
Sledding Hills
Alum Creek Park North (Westerville): 221 W. Main St. There is a medium hill, with some small {fun} bumps in the NE corner of the park (bordering Main St.), as well as a small slope down to into the park which runs along the entrance road that is perfect for younger kids (my kids still love it).
Blendon Woods (Westerville): 4265 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. For kids only: turn right at ranger station and continue to dead end. Check their Facebook page or call 614-891-0700 for hill status.
Sharon Woods Metro Park (Westerville): the sled hill entrance is just north of the park's main entrance on Cleveland Avenue (There's a sign that says "sledding hill") – it’s easy to miss, so keep an eye out. There are two hills, one for children 10 and under, and a larger hill. Check their Facebook page or call 614-891-0700 for hill status. We love this sledding hill!
Hoover Dam Park (Westerville): 7705 Cubbage Rd – east side of the Dam. (This is not Hoover Reservoir – sledding is not permitted there)
