Heads Up On Some Not-To-Miss Contests & Events!
Here are some not-to-be-missed fun contests, opportunities and events for your kids!
We wanted to be sure to draw your attention to some fun contests, opportunities and events (pre-registration required). Please share with your friends and family too, if they have kids who might enjoy any of these.
2012 Kids News Ohio Scary Story Contest: Open to grades 3-8. Winners will be broken down by grades and prizes will be given. Deadline for submission is October 31st, but earlier is better. See details here or email [email protected].
Kids' News Ohio is also seeking more kid writers from Central OH (and other areas) to help cover Ohio Sports teams, events, music releases and news events. This sounds like a great opportunity for any aspiring writers! Click here for info or email RJ at [email protected].
LEGO Contest at the Columbus Art Museum: Ages 6 through adult - there are also family teams. There are several categories you can enter, prizes are given as well as the distinction to have your work displayed at the Columbus Art Museum. Submissions must be made by October 14th. LEGO Store Mini Model Contest: Ages 14 and under. Create the new mini model for November 2013 using 25-40 LEGO pieces. Submissions much be made by September 30th. Winner will get complete set of 2012 mini models. Click here for all the details.
Youth Aviation Adventure: Ages 12-18, September 29th. Teens will get to experience some hands-on aircraft activities, as they learn about operations, instruments in the cockpit, aerodynamics, pre-flight an actual aircraft and more! Boy and girl scouts can fulfill some service requirements. $5 per person. Registration needed by September 26th. click here for details and registration.
